abstract = "Features related to tectonic faults in deposits of the Barreiras
Formation have been increasingly recorded in the literature.
However, the record of deformation structures associated to folds
in this unit is rare. This work aims to demonstrate that the
Barreiras Formation in the south of the Alhandra Sub-Basin shows
peculiar terrain characteristics, expressed by morphological and
drainage anomalies that conform to the presence of both faults and
folds. These features, extracted from SRTM digital elevation data,
mostly include the prevalence of trellis drainage pattern and of
rivers that change rapidly their courses according to curved
trajectories. Field work confirms the presence of anticlines in
the Barreiras Formation, probably developed due to NS compression
during the Pliocene-Pleistocene.",
